I’m very happy to bring you today a partial cover release for Linda Beutler’s latest book, My Mr. Darcy & Your Mr. Bingley! And why partial you may ask? Because I will only be revealing the back cover! The lovely Ceri is revealing the front cover at Babblings of a Bookworm, so I would suggest visiting her blog to check the lovely front cover Janet Taylor worked on.
I believe you all know how much I love beautiful covers, so it makes me very happy to be able to be a part of this double cover release, but I’m also very happy because I got a chance to work with Janet and Ceri! It is an honor to be doing a separate front and back cover reveal with such a lovely lady and JAFF connoisseur as Ceri, I love her blog and her reviews, so I’m very proud to be joining her on this post 🙂
But the back cover is not the only thing I would like to share with you today! My Mr. Darcy & Your Mr. Bingley has just gone live at Amazon during the night!!! After reading A Will of Iron and considering it one of my top 10 favorites from 2015, this is the greatest of news for me and I’m looking forward to read it.

Linda Beutler’s professional life is spent in a garden, an organic garden housing America’s foremost public collection of clematis vines and a host of fabulous companion plants. Her home life reveals a more personal garden, still full of clematis, but also antique roses and vintage perennials planted around and over a 1907 cottage. But one can never have enough of gardening, so in 2011 she began cultivating a weedy patch of Jane Austen Fan Fiction ideas. The first of these to ripen was The Red Chrysanthemum (Meryton Press, 2013), which won a silver IPPY for romance writing in 2014. You might put this down as beginner’s luck—Linda certainly does. The next harvest brought Longbourn to London (Meryton Press, 2014), known widely as “the [too] sexy one”. In 2015 Meryton Press published the bestseller A Will of Iron, a macabre rom-com based on the surprising journals of Anne de Bourgh.
Now, after a year-long break in JAFF writing to produce Plant Lovers Guide to Clematis (Timber Press, 2016)—the third in a bouquet of books on gardening—we have My Mr. Darcy and Your Mr. Bingley bursting into bloom.

Hi, Meredith! Thanks for visiting! Yes, giving Bingley a hint more spine leads to all kinds of repercussions for Darcy, and I cannot even speak of Jane, for fear of giving too much away! The trick was not to take Bingley wholly out of character.

Thanks, Beau! This tale began first as a teensy short story, then grew into today’s novel! There was some first daunting, and the quite fun, research along the way. I’ll me talking more about this fantastic back cover object (which really exists in two forms, the original and a copy) here at Rita’s soon.

Oddly, this stunning item appears only briefly in the story, a flash of remembrance as a simile in Darcy’s mind, but my finding it kept me from having to rewrite a key scene. Of course Darcy owns this fantastic punch bowl/wine cooler! Who else???

Oh yes! Love the silver piece on the back cover…did Elizabeth throw it at Darcy? No, she is too much a lady! I have read two of Linda’s books and so enjoyed them. I have yet to read ‘Longbourn to London’ but it is on my wishlist as well as ‘Plant Lovers Guide to Clematis’ as I love clematis! I love Jane and Bingley and look forward to reading one that give them more page time!! Congratulations to your joint reveal! Now to check out the cover at Ceri’s blog!!

Thanks, Carole, for following the cover reveal to two great bloggers! We weren’t sure how it would all work! This was a really fun story to write. Bingley steps out from under Darcy’s persuasion, only to land under Lizzy’s pert opinions! And will Jane cooperate, or not? This punch bowl is MUCH too heavy for anyone to heave at anyone, but our Lizzy, in moments of sore vexation, does give in to some unladylike impulses, or tries to!

I have not read Plant Lovers Guide to Clematis but have read and enjoyed the others. I have to go to Ceri’s blog and check out the front but do love the elegance of the back. I would say that the punch bowl looks heavy enough to require a strong person to carry it. Looking forward to reading this new story.

Thanks Rita. I really like this back cover and this idea for a story. I checked it out on Amazon and put it on my list. I love Linda’s books and have been waiting for this one. From the sample I read it looks like Bingley is standing up for himself so good for him. I hope Darcy and Elizabeth manage to get together despite themselves and preferably before the end of the book.

Looks like what with real life and all, I can still manage to get a book out every year, it just isn’t always JAFF! At last I have an idea for a new Regency P&P story in 2018, but likely mid-to-late year.

Rita,got to say that I’m intrigued!!! Don’t know what to make of the trophy/cup at the back but it’s definitely piqued my interest!!

Thank you, Mary! I hope this book will satisfy others like myself who have always wished Bingley challenged Darcy more, especially when Darcy was the world’s worst wingman! And you’ll enjoy Darcy having to prove himself worthy of Bingley’s friendship after it takes a bruising.

I finished reading this and posted my 5 star review on both Goodreads and on Amazon. Loved it. I will have to read it again sometime. Laughed, cried and learned something new about a book…A.’s master piece!

Thanks, Anji! Pleased stay tuned, as I’ll be posting about that stunning back cover punchbowl (it was created as a wine cooler). The original was solid silver, and one copy that has been made is sterling silver. Precious metals always get my attention—I’m frivolous that way!
