Good afternoon everyone,
I’m very happy to bring you a new monthly update on our BINGO.
This month we have achieved a milestone as 3 people in the group have already finished their BINGO cards! We are really a group of avid readers 🙂 I hope you all have enjoyed having this initiative as a motivation to read different types of books. Even though this BINGO is making my TBR increase, I know that it is making me read books I wouldn’t otherwise read, and I am loving the research process to find them.
With regards to the cards, some of you have mentioned that you might do a second card, so if that’s something you’d like to do, let me know 🙂
Although some people have read a lot in the first 3 months of the year, our group numbers are now decreasing and we have read 65 books in March. The diversity however is increasing and our most read books only have 2 hits, which means the number of different books read is higher.
Top Books in March
- Mr. Darcy and the Enchanted Library – Read 2 times
- Rising Courage by Heather Moll – Read 2 times
- The Darcy Files by Cat Gardiner – Read 2 times
We’ve read books from 54 different authors, and again, a few names I never heard of before appeared in this list! Here is our Top Authors list:
Top Authors in March
- Heather Moll – 2 different books were read 3 times
- Cat Gardiner – 2 different books were read 3 times
- Christie Capps – 2 different books were read 3 times
It’s the second time in a row that Christie Capps is in our Monthly Top Authors list, so kudos to her 🙂
Top Categories in March
- Mr. Darcy is not British – 6 occurrences
- Different Era – 5 occurences
- Fantasy – 5 occurrences
- Modernization – 5 occurrences
This month nobody read a book in which Lady Anne is Alive nor Paranormal stories, and the most read category was Mr. Darcy is not British 🙂
Now it’s time to see our individual progress 🙂
This past month I’ve read mostly Non-Jaff books so I only added one book to my card. It’s not a big progress, but I’m taking it slow as I know I’ll need the entire year to finish it, if I am able to finish it at all! But this month I saw a lot of books on your lists that I didn’t know about and that now I want to read! Does that happen to you too? Do you discover new and exciting books to read when you look at other people’s cards?

Thank you all for participating and bringing some fun into my reading in 2024 😊
Happy Reading Everyone!
Amazing: Congratulations to those who have completed their cards. Yay! Tossing virtual confetti.

thanks Jeanne! Honestly Rita I didn’t think I could do this and certainly not so quickly. Thanks for the last century recommendation as I couldn’t find one I could afford. I don’t have audiobooks but found some on you tube so was able to listen to one of those. I really enjoyed doing this especially reading some books which have been sitting on my kindle for ages. I did buy some of the others especially but I enjoyed them and others I certainly would have bought anyway. I wish you and the others much success in completing this challenge.

Thank you Glynis, and congratulations! I hope you continue to follow our monthly updates beacuse maybe it will give you some more ideas concerning hidden books in your kindle 🙂 I have a mixture of books I bought just for this challenge and others from my TBR that could fit the categories. I haven’t filled the “released” last century myself, but you’ll see another option that is not expensive at all when I add it to my card 🙂 Thank you so much for participating in this year’s BINGO, and I hope you like your final card results 🙂

Hi Rita!
I was looking forward to your monthly BINGO post, it’s so fun!
Congrats to Glynis, Jessi and TC, you’re awesome!
Rita, I also find these cards really useful because in spite of having a bunch of readings waiting for me at home, I always find New recommendations of the readers and I want to read them too! LOL
I find really interesting the choices for “Released last century” and “Mr Darcy is not british” of some readers because they help me with my own choices 😉
And it’s a great idea people who have completed their cards want to try a new ones. I’d love to make a second card because I have many books in my TBR pile but…I have completed only 3 for the moment LOL but dreaming is free 🙂
Thanks again for this fun and sweet way of improving our readings! See you in April BINGO!

Thank you so much for participating and for your kind and encouraging words Teresa 🙂
I am slowly adding books to my card too, so like you I will be happy if I can complete this one 😉 I am also very eager to see what people add to their cards, and of course, some categories have an extra appeal, I personally like seeing what people added to the “released last century” and “different era” categories, but mostly I like seeing books from authors I never heard of before, I always find it incredible to discover how huge this community is 🙂 Good luck for the next month, there is a portuguese saying that is “Devagar se vai longe” and that would be something like “he who treads softly goes far”, so keep up with your own speed, in the end, this is not a race, but a fun way to discover books together regardless of our individual speed 🙂

Many congratulations to Glynis, Jessi and TC for completing their Bingo cards! Hopefully, I’ll be joining you in next month’s roundup, since out of the three gaps remaining on my card, two are already filled. Just got to finish my Modern.
Like Glynis, I’ve been digging deep into my Kindle and rummaging along my physical bookshelves to fulfil this challenge. Six of the eight this month were already in my possession, as were eighteen of the twenty two total. For the most part, I’ve really enjoyed the books I’ve read/listened to. As you can see from that last comment, some of my picks have been audiobooks. They’ve been contributing to an audiobooks challenge I’m also taking part in, so “two birds with one stone” there!
Best wishes to everyone for the next month. Looking forward to catching up with you all then.

Been thinking about this. Once I’ve finished my card later in a few days, I think I’ll probably start over! Probably won’t choose what I read quite so deliberately but it’ll be fun to see if I can fill a second card during the rest of the year.

Hi Anji, I’m really happy to see you liked this idea and that it allowed you to read several books you already had. That’s what I’m trying to do too! It’s actually helping me read several books that had been in the TBR for years! Now I feel like I really have to read them to finishe my card, so that’s a great motivation for me. I’m looking forward to seeing which other books you’ll add on your second card! It really makes me happy to see you so engaged with this initiative 🙂

This was so much fun.
I realized that for this BINGO, I read JAFF for all 6 of Jane Austen’s major novels, whereas I usually read only 1-2 each year beyond P&P. I discovered new books and read — and enjoyed — books I wouldn’t have read this last month as I looked specifically to finish the BINGO categories.
I finally read a couple of books on my shelf, including one I bought in 2008 (published in 1996, that was my book for “released last century”)
Thank you for organizing this game, Rita!

That is incredible TC! I have only read P&P and Persuasion inspired stories so far, but I have read several secondary characters, which I usually don’t read as much, and many moderns that would somehow fit in the categories, so I’m also happy this is allowing me to finally read some books I have had in my shelves for ages 🙂 Thank you so much for having participated, and how you’ll join us next year again! I will create a different BINGO card with different categories 🙂

Congratulations to those who have finished & keep going strong for everyone else. I hope that others will join us in reading as it has helped me with other books to read.
Rita – I did finish the Secondary Character (So This is Love by Laura Hile) book but with so many it is not surprising that it got missed – haha. We can just put it down for April. I have not decided which book to read for the Released last Century yet, well I have a few days to decide 😉

Hi Rita, I noticed you have written under my card that the Blue book is noted, but on the card it is not. When it says released last century, does that mean in the 1900’s….? Thanks, Linda
